IHTEC Conference Room Information
Talking Communities is the primary system used by IHTEC for web conferencing.  Please contact us in advance by email or phone to co-ordinate a time to join us in the conference room.   It will probably take us 15 or 20 minutes to provide you with an interactive tour of the room features.

You will need both a microphone and speakers (or headset combination) to use the conference room.


Use the following procedure to download the software and connect to our Conference Room # 2.

  • Close any other communications programs (eg. Skype, MSN, etc.) that are currently running on your system.


  • Open your browser and click here to link to the connection page for the IHTEC Talking  Communities account.  (Click on thumbnail photos below to enlarge the screen captures.)









  • Under 'First Time Participants' click on the appropriate green link to download the software/plug-in to your computer.


  • After the software/plug-in has downloaded, you may have to  click here again to get back to our account page.  This time, follow the 'Click Here to Enter the Room' link to open the login page.
    Note:  On some browsers, you may see a prompt for a Web Conference Plugin - Click OK.









  • Enter your real name as a 'User Name'.  (We do not use alias names or handles in our room.)
  • Enter a password of "toured" (without the quotation marks), and click on the 'Log On' button.


  • The room will open, and you will see your name in the Participant list.  You will see the name of an IHTEC representative appear in the Moderators list.








  • Note:  A new window with some sponsorship advertising, possibly including audio, may open in your           browser....just close it.



  • We will begin the process of describing the features of our conference room and provide you with an on-line interactive tutorial.  If you can't hear us, watch for some text messages in the Public Chat Box (upper left corner of the screen).

You can always come back here to enter the conference room.  However, you may find it more convenient to save the URL of the connection page in your Favorites for future reference.
IHTEC Skype Information
If you wish to have a one-on-one meeting with us on the web, we are also available on Skype.  Please contact us in advance by email or phone to co-ordinate Skype addresses and a time to meet.


As a 'First Time Participant', follow the appropriate link from this page  to download the Talking Communities software/plug-in (PC or Mac) to your computer.
Enter your real name as a User Name, and use the Password "toured" - - without the quotation marks.  Click 'Log On' to enter the conference room.
After the conference room opens, your name will appear as a 'Participant'.  An IHTEC representative will appear as a 'Moderator' and will take you through an on-line conference room tutorial.
